There are different brushes and pad attachments for different types of flooring, but for the sake of this discussion, I’m going to focus on the ones I used for the travertine tile cleaning.

Despite the fact that the Orbiter is a bit heavy, it’s very easy to operate once you get started. There’s no hard scrubbing involved here, the machine does the work. The great thing about the Oreck Orbiter is that it takes the muscle work out of the whole process. Oreck Orbiter Tile Cleaning – The Process If you can’t see it, let me give you a close up… This is to give you an idea of what our floor should look like.ĮThe high traffic areas, definitely get the worst of it. This area is normally covered with a rug, and if you look closely, you can see the dirt outline of the rug on the tile floor. This tile is just super-porous (and I feel compelled to say that I did not choose this tile), and is a dirt magnet with all of the cracks and crevices. Plus, it’s a tool that I’ll have and use as I need it, in other parts of my home.įair warning, this tile is a wee bit embarrassing to share, and I promise you that we clean regularly. It’s not something you can clean well with your normal cleaning tools, and from the research I did on the Oreck Orbiter, I figured it was going to be a lot cheaper than paying someone to come out and clean my tile. We have travertine tile in our home, and while it’s pretty, it is very porous, and very prone to dirt and grime getting into all of the nooks and crannies over time. I bought the Oreck Orbiter specifically for my tile floors and cleaning the grout, but it has proven to be an amazing multi-surface floor cleaner as well, which has been an added bonus. That’s where the Oreck Orbiter comes to the rescue. After all, nothing sends me into a home improvement tailspin like a party! That said, after a long winter, your floors definitely take a beating, whether you have carpet, tile, vinyl or hardwoods. We’re getting ready for another graduation party, which always means getting the house into party-shape. However when used on the plain Oreck buffer this pad still gives a respectible semi gloss paint like shine to quality stone and wood floors. It’s springtime, which means spring cleaning is probably on your mind, like it is mine. If used on a floor burnisher this pad will deliver a better quality result simply because of the higher RPM's of the burnisher. At those much higher RPM speeds the floor burnisher is far more sensitive to surface conditions where it is used. Yes the floor burnisher spins faster but it is more suseptible to adverse flooring conditions. However for the mirror like high gloss you can see yourself shine seen on some stone floors you need a floor burnisher.Ī floor burnisher turns at almost twice the speed of your floor workhorse floor buffer but that often comes with a profound trade off. A floor buffer doubling as a floor burnisher does an adequate job bringing out a shine on even the most tired floor. With its increased torgue any awesome floor buffer has the raw turning power to deep clean on almost any surface. A floor buffer operates at a much lower rotary speed of about 750 RPM's as a result the torgue is increased. You might need to know the difference between a floor burnisher and a floor buffer. This pad gives you a nice strong semi-glass type shine that is not the same as the hi gloss mirror like shine you'd get using a floor burnisher rather than a buffer. For an everyday utilitarian shine this Oreck polishing pad does the trick at a cost that won't kill your wallet. For the best top of the line polishing experience the lambs wool works the best and it has a prenium price to go with it. This is a good polishing pad but not the best.
